Consider joining Match Corps: Lawrence, a full-time, in-school, professional math tutoring fellowship. We are seeking smart, idealistic, relentless people for our corps at Lawrence High School for the 2013-2014 school year. Each Fellow works with two students at a time for each period of the school day, and will have a personal caseload of 12 students for the entire school year. Fellows drive student achievement by providing individualized instruction, and by building personal and meaningful relationships with students and their families.
Applicants must have a bachelor's degree, and although Fellows must have strong high school math skills, we accept applicants from all majors and backgrounds.
This opportunity is open to any adult who is willing to commit to this 11 month fellowship position. Ideal candidates include recent college graduates, mid-career individuals, and retirees. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until all 50 fellows are hired. In considering applications, we primarily look for a strong academic record, coaching or tutoring experience, and a readiness to rise to the many demands and challenges that develop from working with at-risk youth. We need idealistic and driven people who are hungry for consistent feedback, and who will commit to working tirelessly for one year to erase, not narrow, the achievement gap.
