Community Health Care and First Aid volunteer

As a developing country Nepal has a very basic level of medical system. Hospitals and health centers are tried to be decentralized throughout Nepal. Due to the road accessibility and lack of health awareness most of the rural people are deprived from health service. Further more doctors, nurses and other medical personnel do not want to be posted in these setting due to the lack of equipment and they are unable to invent something new and enhance their profession further too.

HFH Nepal supports some these community health centers by sending volunteers. As volunteer you will be supporting to local staff in their day to day work. Also it is depend on volunteer's specialization and interest too, they will be supporting local staff in checking patients, dressing normal injury, manage hospital pharmacy etc. There is a mobile clinic program in rural places for two to five days some time volunteer may assist these medical personnel in rural clinic programs. To enroll with these program volunteers have to be doctors, medical student, pharmacist, paramedic, dentist, nurse etc. This program also allows Pre-med who need exposure before joining university. Pre-med will observe medical system in a developing country, managing official records, helping local personnel in registering paints name and managing medical store.

Program location currently we run program in rural and urban places in mid region and western region of Nepal. In the mid region we work in Kathmandu valley in Lalitpur, Kathmandu and Bhaktapur s suburb areas. Similarly rural area in mid region we work in Sindhupalchok and Kavre District. In western region we work in parbat and lamjung district. Volunteer will be placed as per project necessities and volunteers interest. For further information please visit
