This program creates the opportunity to test your career interests, gain experience, and realize long and short term goals. We are partnered with highly respected fashion studios that offer courses to local students. The studios embrace traditional African fashion and use our own textiles, such as the Real Wax Print. Your activities will depend largely on your experience, but may include assisting designers working on different collections of apparel such as beach wear, formal wear, as well as evening wear. Attending colorful fashion shows, visiting garment producing companies and a whole range of activities.
We also work with women in Ghana who are into business. Our mission is to help them expand and take their businesses into the international market. By doing so we enable them to take better care of their families, which benefits whole societies. Volunteers working alongside will also take part in the sewing.
Joining our fashion and design internship will:
- Offer you an opportunity to discover practical and innovative fashion practice in Ghana and Africa.
- Create a bond between the volunteers and the local community and also promote cross-cultural understanding.
- With your experience from the western fashion service, you will be able to bring unique skills and a fresh perspective to the project. In exchange, you will gain a valuable insight into Ghanaian and Africa culture.
General Requirements:
You need to be either currently studying or practicing in the field of fashion. Good communicative and written skills in English language.
