Calling all nature-minded people! Give the gift of sunlight to native woodland plants (and yourself) by using hand tools to remove the invasive plants that prevent the sun from reaching the ground. In return, enjoy a warm bonfire, socializing with other nature lovers, and free snacks. Great exercise and a wonderful learning opportunity. Wear layers of cotton or wool clothes (leave your Sunday best at home!) and bring a water bottle. Gloves, tools, and training will be provided by friendly, experienced stewards. No experience necessary!
This event will take place at McCormick Woods in North Riverside, IL. Meet at the forest preserve parking lot at the corner of 1st Avenue and 31st Street. Directly northeast of Brookfield Zoo.
