This project entails helping us construct a new set of classrooms. Right now, we have 7 small classrooms, which is simply not enough. We need at least three more, larger classrooms.
We also need new and improved dorms for the both the boys and girls. The dorms we have now are small and cramped, and even crumbling apart. Some of the children have to share beds because there is not enough room.
The majority of the teachers live on the school grounds, but the houses are so, so far away from the actual school, and they don't leave until well past darkfall. We would really like to build them some nice small cottages closer to the school. We already have the foundation for one.
For all of these structures, we will be using our own locally made bricks. We just need to buy concrete and support beams. We estimate that the total cost of this project from start to finish will be around $1,000 for all the structures.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. We understand that it is a large sum, so if you are able to contribute anything or time, it would be okay. It does not all have to be completed at once.
In addition to helping us build these much needed structures, volunteers will learn how we make bricks and can even try themselves.
We ask that all our volunteers contribute a small fee of $50 USD to the Volunteer Breadbasket. This is so that we can supply you with delicious local food while not putting a strain on the orphanage's stores.
The total amount of volunteers needed for this project is flexible, due to the size of the task.
