Assist Spanish-speaking clients at our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program hosted by Community Trust, a division of Self-Help FCU in West Oakland (directly across from the West Oakland BART Station).
As a community development credit union, Community Trust provides underserved individuals in Oakland the opportunity to enter the financial mainstream - often for the first time, build assets, and improve their economic situations.
We provide an alternative to commercial tax preparation firms that charge tax payers excessive fees and encourage them to borrow their refunds at high interest rates. Your help is needed to permit hard-working families to claim the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and receive all the refunds they are due.
Spanish Language Translators will be asked to:
Work 3 hours per week through April 15th. Tax Site hours are Tuesday and Wednesday 3:30-9 pm, Saturday 9 am- 3 pm
Complete a free 1-hour online training and certification.
We are looking for individuals with good customer service. Computer skills are a plus!
