Our students, girls ages 12-17, produce beautiful photographs and photo essays created during our empowerment workshops which introduce them to photography and creative writing. It's our goal to ensure that others see their work and hear their stories. In order to do so we need a strong Public Relations team to help get their photos and stories published in blogs, magazines, and newspapers and get the world out about our amazing work.
A great way to gain skills in an industry is to volunteer. Social advocacy, civic and social associations are especially likely to provide "would be" employees with opportunities to volunteer to gain experience. As a volunteer Public Relations you'll gain experience in:
This volunteer will have a direct impact on the quality of service we provide to underserved Latino communities and the future development of Las Fotos Project. Time Commitment: We anticipate this position will require 2-3 per week or 10-15 hours per month. Duties can be done from home or from the Las Fotos Project office in downtown Los Angeles.
About Las Fotos Project: Las Fotos Project, a project of Community Partners, is a non-profit, community-based photography program whose mission is to bring about positive change for young Latinas facing adversity.
