Glocal Literacy Founddation partners with STEC English language School of Hoi an Viet Nam. About half of the students are on scholarships from GLF to study at STEC. English is the key to job opportunitiees and earning potential as the central area of Viet Nam grows in tourism.
Each classroom has a head teacher who is a Vietnamese University graduate trained as a teacher of English. The volunteers are only in the classroom to assist with English language pronounciation and cultural clarifications. You will not be required to lesson plan. We do request a minimum of 3 hours per week as each class meets 2x a week for one and a half hours. We do not have any funds for this volunteer position but you will be assisted if you need help in arranging housing or other needs.
As you will be working with youth, it is a requirement that you have a criminal clearance from your home country. it is much easier to obtain before you arrive in Viet Nam.
