Soccer Instructor/coach in the Beautiful Maldives!

Are you a driven soccer/football enthusiast and does living on a tropical island, whilst doing what you love most, sound like it's just too good to be true?

As our volunteer football instructor you will be given the opportunity to spend your days coaching football and your spare time enjoying everything the Maldives has to offer.

Our football programme has previously been hugely successful as football is one of the most popular sports in the Maldives.

This means that there has always been a great appreciation of the work we have been doing to benefit the local community and our football volunteers are always held in high regard with the young people of the island.

Programme outline

In this programme you will be tasked with planning and implementing football coaching activities in our local schools (primary and secondary). As our volunteer you will get to work closely with the school administration, teachers, other volunteers from AV, and parents to develop coaching plans suitable for local students. As our football coach you may also conduct after school enrichment sessions for the community. We have the facilities and equipment for conducting training programmes in Football. You may however need to carry your own shoes, as it may be expensive to purchase new ones here and the selection is limited.

Past History

Our football programme has seen progress in terms of securing actual teams of different age groups for both the island's schools and to represent the island in inter-island / inter-atoll tournaments and cups. Furthermore, the programme has also helped increase the number of girls joining our football activities which has been hugely beneficial in terms of erasing gender inequality on the island. No programme has been more warmly received by the young people of Naifaru Island than our football coaching programme and by joining our team you are guaranteed a warm welcome by everyone in the community!

To be our football coach volunteer, all we require is that; - You are enthusiastic about working with kids and young people - You have a passion for football to match our community's - You have an open mind towards other cultures than your own - You are willing to commit yourself to building the island's continuing love for football!
