Daddy and Little Me (DLM) is a young non-profit founded by an experienced leader in family activities specifically designed to build bonds between fathers and their children. We are currently working in the Arlington/Alexandria communities and would like to extend our programming to meet demand. We are looking for a volunteer Fundraiser Coordinator to help Identify new corporate sponsors and maximize fundraising opportunities through various business development techniques including cold-calling, following up on warm leads and attending networking events; consistently research ways to create partnerships with local businesses. While the position is currently volunteer in nature, our plan is to provide a modest stipend for this work as our budget grows. This is an exciting opportunity to get in on the ground floor and help shape an organization with an early solid track record and great potential to address a nationwide need. You may be required to sit on our Board of Directors to update the board on events and activities. Estimated time commitment is 10+ hours/ month.
Responsibilities of Fundraising Coordinator
-Lead strategic thinking on how to build a sustainable fundraising events for Daddy and Little Me (DLM)
-Coordinate targeted advertising, sales and marketing initiatives to the local community and increase sponsorship of events.
-Maintain relationships with existing sponsors and families to keep them abreast of existing and upcoming community engagements.
-Effectively engage donors of all levels through sponsors and patient families to educate them about DLM fundraising events and special events, answering any questions that may arise.
-Advise and assist in the development of an organization-wide fundraising strategy, plan and budget – including effective strategies for raising funds.
