Mission bénévole posté(e) par African Orphanage
Publié le : 23 sept. 2013
Volunteers do not need to have any skills or knowledge about construction, as they will mainly be doing unskilled work such as digging, mixing sand and cement, carrying rocks, sand and bricks, fetching water, and painting. They will be led by skilled Kenyans and work together with local community. Volunteers can assist with the physical work, painting, decorating, mending desks etc.
Volunteers who wish to stay for longer periods may participate in our other volunteer programs- e.g. teaching in a local school, community education and environmental awareness program etc.
Our programs are highly meaningful and in safe locations.
Program start & end date
Our volunteer programs are available all the year round, with flexible start and end dates.
Duration of placement
You can volunteer for as little as one week and still get rewarding experience, but you can stay for as long as you wish.
Work schedule & flexibility
We offer flexible work schedule where you can split your time between working on our projects and exploring other parts of Kenya.
Food & Accommodation
3 meals a day and safe accommodation are provided to all volunteers. You are welcome to stay with other volunteers at the orphanage compound or with a host family, but both places give you a chance to learn more about the Kenyan culture and language
Cost to volunteer
Volunteers are required to commit a fee of 140/week that caters for expenses of your meals, housing and support for our community projects. This is payable in cash upon arrival in Kenya.
Our friendly staff will come to meet you at the airport on the day you arrive, and escort you to the airport on departure, by a car that we hire. The pre-departure information to the placement and program is done to offer volunteers to have basic knowledge of what is acceptable within the community, work type, general expectations etc.
We welcome volunteers from all over the world, regardless of their faith, age or academic backgrounds
