Daddy and Little Me is a young non-profit founded by an experienced leader in family activities specifically designed to build bond between fathers and their children. We are currently working in the Arlington/Alexandria communities and would like to extend our programming to meet demand. We are looking for a volunteer to help us identify fathers who can help plan and lead additional programs such as reading hours, hikes, day camping, and local field trips. While the position is currently volunteer in nature, our plan is to provide a modest stipend for this work as our budget grows. This is an exciting opportunity to get in on the ground floor and help shape an organization with an early solid track record and great potential to address a nationwide need. Estimated time commitment is 10 hours/ month
The Assistant Director of Volunteers will sit on our Board of Directors and be responsible for the following:
-Work with Director and Board to identify specific needs for leadership positions
-Conduct outreach to local community groups, congregations, schools and neighborhoods to identify potential event leaders for Daddy and Little Me programs
-Develop annual recruiting and training program for volunteer program leaders
-Maintain database and communications with volunteer program leaders
