ProSCREEN is looking for at least 3 volunteers to help promote Prostate cancer screening and education in Douglas County. Men and women are welcome , but men who have been diagnosed with Prostate cancer are especially encouraged to apply. All training and materials will be provided by the ProSCREEN Program Manager of the Community Cancer center.
Some likely duties of the volunteer are:
- Distibuting posters to be placed in area businesses such as gyms, barber shops, sporting goods & grocery stores and doctor offices.
- Attending and/or helping to organize events related to Prostate Cancer in the county.
- Acting as county contact between the program manager and interested parties for education events.
- Distributing educational materials as appropriate at events.
These duties are not exclusional or inclusive and may change based on the volunteer's strengths and talents and the needs of ProScreen and the community. Furthermore, duties may be split up among volunteers using the skills of each to the fullest.
