Madzibambera youth development and creative arts project started in 2002 with an aim to create small scale employment among youths and address issues of HIV and AIDS in Mfuwe, Eastern Province. The organization is also involved with wood carving, weaving, cloth works and they also do art performances.
Madzibamera is located in the famous South Luangwa National Park area. The park has all the big five and has a variety of unique plant and animal species that can be seen only in this part of Africa.
The project this year will continue the construction of a workshop and training centre. This workshop will provide space for training young people from the community in carpentry, woodwork, ICT and metal work. It will also provide space for the organization to store and display their arts. Local professional builders will be involved in the construction phase, whom the volunteers will support.
The project is located near one of the biggest national parks and the volunteers can go for a visit there. They will also get the opportunity to learn how to make artistic souvenirs that they can take home with them.
Location: Madzibambera, Mfuwe. Mfuwe is located in the south Luangwa National Park area in the East of Zambia. It is about 685 km away from the capital city Lusaka and 100 km from the provincial capital Chipata. It is 25 kilometers from the park's main entrance. Mfuwe is one of the busiest destinations for tourists coming to Zambia and has one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries in the world.
