As a step to find solutions to the rural problem, deliberate stop of urban growth, deliberate sitting of viable economic projects and education reforms must be undertaken. Teaching plus+ is a comprehensive package which provides an exciting way for you to gain the needed experience and at the same time live, study and enjoy the best of rural Ghana. This placement, allows you to live and work in a rural setting, thereby providing a rare experience people only dream off. You will have the pleasure of learning the culture of the people and even learn to speak and understand the local dialect, as well as enjoy local delicacies. You'll be so much loved and cared for by the people, you'll wish you can stay forever. Before applying for this listing, volunteers must keep in mind the following; i. Applicants will be working within a rural setting, most likely in the Volta region of Ghana. ii. Applicants will live in the rural communities, with a host family. iii. Applicants must choose whether to teach in a senior high school, junior high school or basic school. iv. Applicants must bear in mind that rural communities lack in certain amenities. However, applicants must be rest assured since we make sure we place applicants with host families that have and provide the needed amenities to make their stay a pleasant and memorable one. v. All selected communities have electricity, water, easy access to health care if needed and lots and lots of love and peace. Volunteering Info Departure Dates Dream Shelter Ghana volunteer programs operate all year round in Ghana. Volunteers arrive monthly in Accra and go through the in-country orientation with other incoming volunteers.
Fees: Volunteers generously contribute their time and skills and pay a reasonable fee to help cover the costs of ongoing projects. The Volunteer Program Fee covers the following items: Orientation Packet Lodging in Ghana In-country volunteer support
To keep the overall cost down, volunteers are responsible for obtaining various items before departure. Dream Shelter Ghana will provide assistance as needed to help the volunteer in obtaining the following items: Travel medical insurance (including emergency evacuation coverage) Visa to Ghana Required vaccinations Airline ticket
In a cognizant effort to keep the volunteer program flexible enough to cover the needs and wants of all types of participants, volunteers are responsible for covering the cost of in-country ground transportation during their stay. Depending on one's level of required comfort, food and transport can be either pennies a day, or dollars a day. That is up to the volunteer to decide.
Program Fees Volunteer service can range from 2 weeks to 6 months. Program Fees vary based on the length of the volunteer placement/assignment. 2weeks- 350 USD 1month-550 USD 2month- 1100 USD
