The Arabic Interpreter translates for our clients in various programs of NVFS to ensure clear and accurate communication between the client and NVFS staff.
Duties:
- Provide Arabic interpretation for NVFS clients during immigration legal, case management, counseling, and/or psychiatric appointments as needed, at both HCV and MHS locations.
- Assist with telephonic interpretation
- Translate written documents
- Accompany clients to off-site appointments as needed
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 20 years old
- Must maintain confidentiality
- Fluency in English and Arabic
- Must submit to Criminal History Background Check
- Familiarity with immigration/legal terminology helpful but not required
Time: This is an on-call position, but volunteer will be contacted ahead of time when assistance is needed. Appointments are held during business hours, length of appointment may vary. Frequency may vary from [most it would be – i.e. a couple times a week] to [least it would be – i.e. once every 4-6 weeks].
