LEX Language Project is a small non-profit organization that promotes multilingualism and cross cultural exchange. We are currently seeking volunteers for a variety of outreach and office tasks. Volunteers in this position should be flexible and open to helping out with many different duties. We are also willing to work with volunteers to develop a set of duties that are rewarding and comfortable. Tasks might include outreach ot various communities (geographical or language/ethnic communities) via email or personal contact, preparing and posting flyers, xeroxing, data entry, and participating in planning sessions. Our staff members and volunteers often work together as a group, and we enjoy lively conversation.
As a benefit, volunteers and their families may participate in our language learning clubs free of charge. Working in our office is also an excellent opportunity for individuals who wish to practice speaking English, Japanese, or Spanish. Applicants should be local and able to commit for three months or more. Generally, our volunteers work on Thursdays from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. However, the schedule is negotiable, based on staff and volunteer needs. Our North Cambridge office is easily accessible by public transportation and by car. Feel free to contact us for more information about our programs, and about our volunteer positions.
