FareShare collects donated paper metro fare cards and consolidates those cards onto plastic SmarTrip cards. Working with partner organizations in the DC area that provide shelter and counseling for homeless veterans, FareShare helps subsidize transportation expenses for veterans as they travel to job interviews and try to get back on their feet, effectively helping to eliminate one of the greatest barriers to finding and keeping a new job.
