Description of volunteer position The foundation has acquired a farm, where cocoa, corn, plantain, and fruit trees are grown. We want to maximize the production potential and make this farm an integral one (with the breeding of large and small animals), in order to raise funds for projects that the foundation is undertaking for the benefit of children, teenagers and families in vulnerable situations. We also want to provide technology transfer and trainings to families from the communities near the farm who started sowing corn and cocoa in the Area with the foundation.
Description of the mission :
To work directly in the field with the help and coordination of a work group operating in the farm as foundation employees, as well as to work directly with the families in the communities. So it would require an agricultural field planning.

Agricultural field planning, technology transfer, field work, maintenance and production of the farm.

Lita Parish, Ibarra Canton, Imbabura Province, Ecuador
-Duration of the mission:
One-year mission beginning as soon as possible
-Number of hours per day and days per week required:
8 hours a day Monday-Friday, and possibly on weekends during sowing and harvest seasons.
Candidate profile -Former experiences :
We prefer candidates with agricultural experience, possibly with cocoa, corn, coffee, fruit trees, and/or breeding livestock.
-Diplomas :
Technicians or engineers with a degree in agronomics.
-Level of Spanish:
Intermediate.
-Required competences and qualities:
Good human relations skills, facility with knowledge transfer, knowledge of crop rotation.

Food.
-Possibilities of accommodation (lodging, food, etc…):
Lodging (in the farm there is a house for lodging volunteers), round-trip transportation to and from the farm on weekends, facilities for dining.
Further details The farm isn't in the city of Ibarra, but 95 km from the city, an hour and a half away, in the community of Cachaco, Lita parish.
