Museum of Reclaimed Urban Space (MoRUS) is seeking a qualified
individual to become a Web Design Volunteer, to work on the re-design
of our website.
The Museum of Reclaimed Urban Space (MoRUS) is a living archive of the
Lower East Side's squats and gardens. It is currently in the process
of setting up its space, which is located in the storefront of a
historic building in the East Village of New York. Once open to the
public, the museum will display materials such as photographs,
posters, zines, underground newspapers, and videos that show how local
residents cleaned up vacant lots and buildings in the area,
transforming them into organizing spaces for the community. The museum
will also offer three daily tours, which will lead participants to the
East Village's most legendary community gardens, squats and sites of
social change, and explain their compelling and rich histories.
This is a part-time, unpaid position. The Web Design Volunteer will be
responsible for the complete design and concept of our website, as
