Publié le : 24 juil. 2013
The Nanubhai Education Foundation (501c3), founded in 2004, is dedicated to improving education in India's rural public schools. We work to encourage both teachers and students to achieve excellence in the classroom, and to use their enhanced English skills to fully participate in India's ever-growing economy. Without strong English language instruction, even the most dedicated students cannot gain access to jobs available to their urban, English-speaking counterparts.
Nanubhai is a fast-growing organization with an entrepreneurial spirit. We welcome initiative, creative solutions, new ideas and a relentless work ethic. Our goal is to provide all Fellows with opportunities to learn and grow as professionals. In return, we ask team members to participate in, challenge, and advance our goals through their hard work and unfailing dedication to our mission.
About the Position
The Residential Teaching Fellows program is a unique opportunity to work with a small group (15-20) of motivated students at a boarding school by running a Spoken English program. Fellows will work with both the Nanubhai and teaching staff at the school to develop a curriculum to help students practice speaking English. The class will last 1-2 hrs per day and be held either before or after school. It is designed to be a time for students to practice their conversational English, develop confidence in their speaking abilities, and have fun learning.
Fellows are expected to teach anywhere from 6 weeks to 10 months, depending on the availability of the Fellow.
Benefits and Salary
You're also welcome to travel in India before/after your fellowship, if time is available on your visa. Our ground team will be happy to make recommendations on places to visit.
Fellows will be responsible for the cost of their airfare.
