JJD Foundation is looking for a committed and motivated webmaster/web designer volunteer to revamp our website.
Background: In brief, we are a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization; with a vision to help those in need of basic education, medical care and execute a disaster relief action plan in Haiti through community development projects. At the moment we are focusing on our school project through which 198 students are receiving free education in the community of Arniquet, Haiti. We seek to expand the school facility to accommodate more children and improve the standard of life. To achieve this we require our website to reflect our work and reach out to the world for garnering support for our mission.
Requirement: We require a creative designer comfortable working on web designing software and integrating social media platforms (e.g. blogs, Facebook, Twitter) to tell our story to the world. Though we cannot financially compensate you at this time, we can provide recommendations and course credit. This opportunity is a good challenge for anyone looking towards working for a great cause to diversify their portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- Designing Web sites and ensuring that they are easy to access and visually effective.
- Translating a client's informational or marketing content into a functional website
- Creating interactive design concepts by clarifying goals and designing functionality.
- Use computer software, computer design techniques, and computer-generated media to design new images.
- Maintain site appearance by developing and enforcing content and display standards; editing submissions.
- Use computer design systems and artistic techniques to create animation.
- Review graphic materials and present the information in an eye-catching yet organized manner.
- Produce media products that make a substantial contribution to accomplishing project objectives.
- Produce consistent visual images across our websites.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Knowledge in Arts, Design and Media
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript, Photoshop, and Flash for designing
- In depth knowledge of up to date web-design trends and techniques
- Work collaboratively and efficaciously as a team member.
- Prior experience in Web designing or Media based diploma or Degree
Time Commitment: This is a virtual opportunity and the time commitment and hours of operation are flexible, though we would prefer someone who can give at least 5 – 7 hours a week.
