Looking for a way to make a difference for children in Northern Virginia while working with an energetic group of local adults on a short-term project?
Here is your chance to contribute by helping organize the SCAN (Stop Child Abuse Now) of Northern Virginia 2013 Croquet Day. This fun casual event will be a croquet tournament with a variety of family friendly activities, food and drinks will be held on Saturday, MAy 18th from 12p - 5p at the Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria. This will be SCAN's 1st ever Croquet Day event! SCAN relies on the funds raised from events like this to implement our parent education, public education, and child advocacy programs that help prevent child abuse and neglect in Northern Virginia.
We are now forming the 2013 Croquet Day Volunteer Host Committee and would like to invite you to participate. Committee responsibilities can include attending 3-4 meetings over the next 5 months, providing staff with suggestions for companies and individuals who might want to help sponsor, helping to collect items for prizes, helping identify and create games and activities , helping organize silent auction displays and catalog descriptions, and/or helping out on-site on the day of the event – you can choose the tasks that fit your interests and schedule best! The first committee meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 16th at SCAN's offices (1705 Fern Street, Alexandria, VA 22302).
Feel free to invite friends or colleagues who might be interested in helping with this tournament. So that we have enough materials at the meeting, please RSVP your interest in helping organize the event to SCAN's Development Director, Karen Price, at kprice@scanva.org.
