Do you have skills with wordpress and website development?
Are you available for a few hours a week to post content on our website?
If so, you should join the team at A Growing Culture (AGC)! AGC is a global coalition connecting farmers with the resources they need to create an ecologically sound food system and a prosperous planet! Feeding the world's population is a critical task that depends on farmers throughout the world. Research indicates ecological agriculture is a means of assuring that future food needs are met. One of the biggest challenges to developing ecological farming systems worldwide is the farmer's lack of access to knowledge. A Growing Culture (AGC) fills this void, creating a platform where farmers can learn from their individual and collective successes and failures.
AGC has over 100 articles from 5 continents around the world, written by farmers, scientist and advocates. We are building this freee library now available in mutiple languages. Be a part of this exciting team and do some volunteering that has a huge impact on our global farming community. You will need to post 1-2 articles a week. Each article should not take at most an hour.
Ecological agriculture works with nature, using integrated systems that conserve resources while increasing crop yield and nutritional quality through diverse plant and animal relationships. Although some believe that an ecological approach to agriculture is a return to pre-industrial farming, we at AGC believe it is a true blend of traditional wisdom with advanced technology. AGC has the potential to impact individuals across the globe, by cultivating an Internet community, developing educational programs, and providing outreach to farmers transitioning to ecological models. Seeking new ways to increase crop yields, create sustainable farms, and reduce environmental impact, our growing community is dedicated to making change one farm at a time.
The central challenge of our time is to manage a planet of limited resources in the context of a rapidly growing population. Insuring a sustainable food supply for everyone is at the heart of this challenge, and ecological agriculture is a proven solution. The information exchange and programs occurring at AGC are a vital part of economic and environmental stability. This passion-driven organization has accomplished a great deal in its first two years!
