The College Prep Program offers assistance to refugee high schools students in 10th, 11th, and 12th grades who plan to apply and attend college post-high school graduation. It includes assistance in career planning, ACT preparation, essay writing skills, college application, and financial aid and scholarship opportunities. The program meets Tuesday afternoons in Rogers Park from October through June.
College Prep Program Volunteers:
- Provide ACT and other academic tutoring assistance to refugee youth and implement age-appropriate educational activities.
- Assist refugee youth in researching colleges, filling out college applications and writing essays.
- Accompany youth and staff on college visits, as needed.
- Enforce and implement the college prep program code of conduct.
Model positive behaviors for participants, encouraging all youth to be engaged with one another
