Une mission bénévole posté par Lanta Animal Welfare
Publié le : 19 déc. 2012
We urgently require a long term volunteer to take responsibility for the care and welfare of 10 dogs and 12 cats, based at our original animal centre at Time for Lime, a restaurant and cooking school on the island of Koh Lanta in Thailand.
Duties will include:
Who we are looking for:
In this role you will work largely alone and unsupervised. For this reason, we absolutely must know that we can trust you. We are not looking for someone lazy, who wants to get away with doing the bare minimum so they can finish up early - you will be expected to work your full shift hours at all times. We are not looking for someone who wants to party all night to the extent that they turn up late for our animals the next morning (or don't turn up at all). The minimum age for this position is 20 but it is imperative that you are mature in your outlook and how you view your responsibilities. You do not have to have prior experience volunteering with animals but it is important to be comfortable surrounded by a pack of (very friendly!) dogs and obviously you must have a deep love of animals and passion for their welfare. You must also have a reasonable level of physical fitness!
You will work 6 days a week on a split shift pattern - from 7.00am to 10.00am and again from 4.00pm to 7.00pm. The time in between the two shifts is yours to do with as you wish - go for a swim on one of our beautiful tropical beaches, have a traditional Thai massage or try out some Thai street food! You will be given a free room on-site (basic but clean), cheap food and cheap drinks. In addition, you will get a free Thai cookery class at the Time for Lime cooking school. You will meet lots of other people and have a lot of fun, as well as getting to know and live with some lovely Thai people. You will get out as much as you put in and our animals will reward you in so many ways!
If you are interested, please email volunteer@lantaanimalwelfare.com telling us a little bit about yourself and how you feel you can help. Preference will be given to volunteers who can commit to a minimum of 3 months.
