As part of our counter human trafficking initiative we want to develop a counter trafficking resource center in Bamenda, Cameroon. Children especially girls continue to fall victim to child trafficking and exploitation due to ignorance. Reporting human (child) trafficking is rear in the news because journalist have limited capacity to access information and report on the phenomenon. Community members cannot recognize and help victims due to ignorance.
The propose center shall offer research opportunities to activist and hold regular capacity building events to engage community members in counter human trafficking. It shall offer internship opportunity to national and international students on child trafficking and build data bank of best practices.
It shall provide a resource pool to local activist and a platform for exchange and experience sharing, building partnerships.
It shall provide research opportunities especially to activist and contribute in shaping the strategic orientation of counter human trafficking initiatives in Cameroon.
