Volunteers are needed to help with behind-the-scenes organization and implementation of the 2013 San Francisco Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. The American Cancer Society's 16th Annual Making Strides Walk will be held Saturday, October 26, 2013 in Golden Gate Park. This 5 mile walk raised more than $400,000 in 2012 for breast cancer research, free patient programs, education and advocacy.
We're looking for dedicated volunteers to help support this years event! Come learn about the Making Strides Volunteer Committee at our Info Night on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the American Cancer Society office near Montgomery Street BART.
The Making Strides Volunteer Committee will meet monthly at the Society's San Francisco office, now through October. Committee members will take on a variety of tasks related to event preparation, community outreach, volunteer recruitment and day of event organization.
This is a great way to save lives, develop leadership skills and build your resume! Those who can devote 1-3 hours/week and share a passion for the fighting breast cancer are encouraged to attend.
