About us: The Arajuno Road Project was created in 2008 with the goal of supporting the schools and improving the opportunities available to the children living along the road located between the small city of Puyo and the rural community of Arajuno in the Ecuadorian Amazon. The program has impacted over 500 children and their families to date by providing quality English instruction, improving the infrastructure and learning environment of their schools, and working on community development and conservation programs, such as school gardens and reforestation.
What we need from you: The volunteers' main responsibility is to teach English at the schools in the mornings and lesson plan in the afternoons or evenings. Volunteers are also welcome to work on community projects or tasks that help to develop the organization. On weekends, volunteers are free to do what they want – stay in the volunteer house, visit Puyo or other parts of the country. During the week, volunteers are assigned one night to cook and another to wash up for the rest of the house. There is a two week minimum stay for this program.

- Prepare dinner and wash up one night a week for the group
- Weekly house chores
- Participate in informal adult English classes one evening a week
