Boys Hope Girls Hope of New York is an innovative, nonprofit college prep boarding program, located in Brooklyn, New York, serving high school aged youth from all five boroughs, who come from various at-risk environments. Boys Hope Girls Hope of New York offers private schooling, residential living, elective activities, and academic/cultural enrichment, while supporting our ultimate goal for our scholars – becoming collegians. For the 2012-2013 School Year, Boys Hope Girls Hope of New York is looking to recruit a core group of volunteers to serve as tutors for our scholars. We are looking for tutors at our East Flatbush location.
Tutors are the backbone of our academic enrichment program, and provide a connection between our organization and the surrounding community.
We are currently looking for tutors to help with math, science, social sciences, writing and religion. We ask our tutors to volunteer once per week for a hour and a half. We are flexible with volunteer schedules and can work with you to choose times and days you best accommodating to your schedule. Most of our tutoring is scheduled to occur in the evenings after 7pm but earlier times and afternoons might be arranged.
Becoming a Volunteer is simple:
Step One: Fill out our Application! We'll process it, run a back ground check, and contact references.
Step Two: Come in for an interview. See our facilities and ask as many questions as you want!
Step Three: Training/Orientation
Step Four: Welcome to the Team!
Please contact me at kebbitt@bhgh.org for an application. Thank you so much for your interest!
