The Rainbow Youth Alliance (RYA) is a support group for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer, and questioning teens and their allies serving youth in Montgomery County and the surrounding areas. We meet twice a month on the 1st and 3rd Sundays from 3:45 - 6 PM in Rockville, MD. We also participate in many area events including DC Youth Pride Day, Capitol Pride, and Rockville Hometown Holidays.

We are looking for volunteers to assist programming in the following areas:
1) Group Co-facilitating
2) Event Planning
3) PR
4) Fundraising/Grant Writing
**
RYA volunteers should be 21 or older, possess a minimum of a high school diploma, and hold a deep respect for the LGBTQ community. Past experience in working with youth or in groups is a plus.

RYA Vision: The Rainbow Youth Alliance (RYA) serves the community of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, intersex, queer, and questioning teens and their allies—known to us as rainbow teens. RYA envisions a future in which rainbow teens have access to safe, nurturing environments where they are respected, listened to, and given information and skills.

RYA Mission: The Rainbow Youth Alliance (RYA) is a safe place for rainbow teens to ask questions, find mutual support, and learn information pertinent to their lives. RYA is committed to safety, support, learning, and leadership.
